COMEX 2009 - SUNTEC CONVENTION CENTRE

A month ago, there was an IT show also over at Expo. I was there with Catt to get her laptop. She was complaining that her previous 1 year old Laptop "dieded"....It was a HP....Hence, I recommended her to get a Lenovo....That was in August...
Last Saturday, after doing houe chores, Hubby was suggesting, instead of going for the "Movie at the Park" by Class 95, he wanted to visit COMEX 2009. It was another sprawling over 5 floors in total. The biggest of its kind, COMEX 2009 focuses on, Technology that's relevant to living in digital times in every particular lifestyle be it among kids, women, geeks, boomers or businesses.

According to CNA: It may be an economic downturn, but the sales at COMEX have reached a new high in its 19 -year history. The four - day IT show generated sales of S$63 million!!! That is a 10% increase from last year's COMEX.

Despite the sales increase, the no. of visitors over the four days was similar to last year at around 710,000. In COMEX 2009...it showcased products and services at EXCLUSIVE OFFERS, GREAT BARGAINS and HUGE SAVINGS to create the ultimate consumer experience.

With another record breaking of over 820 exhibitors, COMEX 2009 displayed a dynamic and comprehensive line-up of the latest and hottest consumer technology gadgets from next-generation digital televisions, coolest mobile phones, ultra-slim mobile PCs, Digital Imaging, Wireless Technology, Portable Entertainment, HDTV, Gaming, GPS, Home/Business Networking, Digital Media, Audio & Home Theatre Entertainment, Lifestype Products, Broadband Technology, Multimedia, Security, Software, Consumer Electronics to a plethora of accessories all under one roof.

This visit to COMEX...Hubby bought me a new camera (Surprises from Hubby again)..as mentioned, I lost my T77 Sony DIGI cam....Supposed to buy a T90, but ended up looking at another series of camera...ahha...always dream to have a SLR...but I think this will be a good start before a SLR coming on the way...heheh....

The free gift was really a fantastic one...!!! A S-Frame!!!

I am still far away from knowing how to use this camera or the function. But for those that is interested to know this model you can visit the review on the below link. I saw a review on thisItalic camera on the website: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/SonyDSCHX1/

Friday ~ 11th Sept 09
Margarita's @ Faber Drive

Yul suggested to have Mexican food ...I almost cannot make it, as I was doing some visitations...Thank God I did not reject the invitation by Yul and Ken. Me and hubby met up with both of them for a late dinner. Well...since it was Friday...I believe we were all in a very relax mood. We met up with them around 8.40pm at Margarita Restaurant (Faber Drive Branch)...Heard from the waitress that they opened up a few branches. This one is the oldest one...Close to 21 years already!!

I personally, have not tasted the real Mexican food before...or the authentic one. I find that the one in Margarita was very unique. Right from their display in their restaurant till the presentation of the food. I was really impressed by it.... and start to love Mexican food. I think I often have Chinese, Jap, Korean food... I think I have started to fall in love with Mexico...

Hubby and I managed to find our way using our GPS.... As it was in a landed residential area...and it was surrounded by all the private housing area. There are a few pubs around that area...saw quite a few groups of ppl that were chilling out that night around the pubs along Margarita.. The moment I went into the restaurant, the feeling was quite unique. You were totally feel colourful as you will be covered under colourful ceiling and walls...The tables and chairs were all customised! They were like the one and only piece in the restaurant (in terms of paintings for the wooden chair, if you get what I mean). Both me and Yul like their toilets. They were filled with rich Mexicans style. Their tiles were all colourful, there was a long rag (can't remember what art on the rag) in the toilet hanging on the walls of the tiles' toilet.

We ordered the Nachos...I don't know what they called them, as Yul and Ken had already ordered that as their starter... I like their Salsa source.... Yummy...the herbs they used, unlike others are stronger. They were very mild and yet fragrant. You will like it, trust me!! I am not very good with words especially in describing how tasty the food is.. I believe the food was so tasty beyond words that could describe them.....ahhaahha

You will be served with their special rice with every main dish you ordered...I never tried such nice combination of rice with their herbs and gravy before. I think the last one I tried was the Italian rice...where they were served differently...very wet and sticky...and it not as yummy as this one.... That night, I had ordered the Red snapper with their special source...It was all in Mexican language....din manage to capture the description below....They have also with Cat fish....but Ken mentioned actually the Cat fish doesn't really taste nice... Hence I din change my type of fish...

Hubby had the lamb shank....wow....taste awesome~~~!!!! The meat was so tender and there was no gamy smell...both hubby and I don't really mind that smell. But for those that dislike the "muttony" smell and still love Lamb shanks....you can go ahead ordering this...!!

This was what Yul ordered...the Chicken....it was so yummy too.....!!!

Did not took any shots in the restaurant..... was on the internet...and did a search on this restaurant...seemed like they have been getting good reviews on their food....The waitress told us that, there were one in Dempsey, but need to call to make reservation, as everyday will be jam-packed with ppl...wow...
