Weekend diary

Last Saturday, we visited Orchard Central as hubby & I were quite curious and wanted to check it out what's really installed in this new mall. They seemed to use quite alot of $$ in publicizing this mall. We parked our car in the mall, and apparently the mall is a vertical mall, and each floor, it could only accommodate around 9 - 10 cars per level. We were there around 6.30pm and the carpark then was quite full already. We had to park our car in level 10th, which we went round and round, making both of us so dizzy. Anyway, I think they have a new trend of layout. We decided to still explore the mall. I would say, the mall was only 15% occupied. Alot of the lots were taken up and still under renov - opening soon.

There was a jazz band there - pre-warming up for the mall we believed. : ) there were a few free lance models - with exotic makeups on (guys and gals) walking around giving brochures of the new layout of this mall.

This was their "Discovery Walkway" in this building. I believe they have nothing much yet to be discovered as most of the tenants were not in yet.

We strolled along orchard road and we thought the ION mall had already opened. It will only be opened on the 21st July, which is next week?? Took some of the picture outside this iconic building. It was really amazing to see the art of architecture. How the glasses and metal coming together and making it such a glaring and glorious outlook.

We then too lazy to walk back to Orchard Central to search for our meal of the day. We decided to go Wheelock, which both of us have not gone there for quite some time. The last time, the both of us were there was to repair my Nokia HP. We then wanted to dine at NYDC, but it was super packed and we decided to have our dinner opp NYDC. The thing that really caught our attention for the opp restaurant, was the wall paper of the restaurant. There were so many pic of diff kinda dogs. We were searching for a friend of Bobby...ehhehe. As both of us were sooOOO...hungry we felt very welcomed by the waiter, named Xavier and we willingly walked in to the restaurant. Friendly and warmth welcome I must say. The name of the restaurant is "BIG O" owned by a local, which Xavier revealed that BIG O has been in the market for almost 6 years....! We thought this was a newly setup restaurant. It was not as crowded as NYDC.

Xavier helped us to take a pic in this restaurant.

We ordered the Platter for 2 (with 2 kinda fish - Dory & Salmon). The baked rice of coz din taste as good as the one in "Fish & CO" by only looking at it. Calamari - S0 S0 only.

TASTE SCORE:

Dory - 6/10

Salmon - 6/10

Calamari - 4/10 (batter was so detached from it)

Baked Rice - 3/10 (TOo bland)

Crab patty - 2/10 (not fresh - smelly)

Mugpie ("The Dark Side") pic on the right - 10/10

Ambience
Overall - good experience, due to good service attitude by the waiter named- Xavier.

Hahha...Too lazy to walk back also to Orchard Central (long stretch for us after a heavy house chores duty), suggested to hubby to take a train back to somerset from Orchard MRT. Again, we had not been taking train together for ages...hehehe

Final L@@K L@@K S@@ S@@ over at Orchard Central. We went to the highest level if we were not mistaken to a storey where there were lotsa restaurant. Pic on right: That should be the way we chill out after a hard day work....way to go Mr. Moo Moo...

Saw an open concept Jap Kitchen along the way back to our Carpark.

All of us really don't know what to have for dinner with Steve before he goes back to Mel on 14th. Well....we decided to have Korean food (near my parents place). Coincidentally, the last round that Steve was back, he too had korean food with us before he headed back to Mel...
